Capital Campaign

Our Original Launch

In the Spring of 2025, Yonah Community Church officially launched our first-ever Capital Campaign. This day marked not only the beginning of a special season in the life of our church but also a defining step toward securing our long-term presence here in Cleveland.

For years, our church has faithfully gathered in the same building, renting the space while serving our community as a campus of Concord Baptist Church. But God opened the door for us to purchase the building and the surrounding land so that YCC can continue to grow and minister in Cleveland for generations to come.

Our campaign launch was celebrated in worship with the start of a new sermon series and a vision-casting Sunday morning. Together, we were reminded that our mission is to “Further God’s Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven,” and this campaign was a tangible reminder that this mission starts here in Cleveland.

This was more than a financial goal. It is was the opportunity to invest in the future of YCC, to secure a permanent home, and to strengthen our ability to love God, love people, and make disciples right here in Cleveland.  

"in Just Three months time..."

The YCC family set out to raise $850,000 over the course of three years in order to fully pay off the property debt at 52 Helen Highway and continue making strategic improvements to our ministry facilities. Our initial goal was to raise $250,000 by Fall, 2026.

In just three months, God exceeded that goal beyond anything we anticipated.

By May 1, 2025, YCC had raised approximately $400,000. Of that amount, $350,000 was immediately applied to the principal of our mortgage, reducing our debt to approximately $500,000.

"In Just 18 Months..."

In September 2025, YCC was officially launched as an autonomous church, planted by Concord Baptist Church. At our first Business Meeting, the church voted to combine the capital funds that had continued to accrue with the generous excess giving received from our members and apply another major payment of approximately $150,000 toward the mortgage, reducing the balance to roughly $350,000.

Then, in March 2026, YCC gathered for our Mid-Year Business Meeting and voted once again to apply accumulated capital funds and excess general giving toward the debt. This payment, totaling approximately $160,000, reduced our remaining mortgage balance to roughly $126,000.

Following this incredible milestone, the YCC Pastor Team prayerfully presented a challenge to the church. Over the remaining five months of the church year, we would set aside five intentional Above and Beyond Giving Sundays with the goal of eliminating the remainder of the debt.

On April 26, 2026, during the very first of those Above and Beyond Giving Sundays, YCC gave approximately $140,000, completely paying off the debt on 52 Helen Highway.

In just eighteen months, God provided the means for our church family to acquire and fully pay for a property valued at just over one million dollars.
